RaidCall Dota 2 League season 3 with LAN finals at DreamHack Valencia

Evil Geniuses's flagship Dota 2 tournament, the RaidCall Dota 2 League returns once again for its third season this time bigger than ever. The most exciting part about season three is that there will be a LAN finals being held at DreamHack Valencia in July.

With a new season comes a few changes as well. Season three will be a more compressed season and feature less teams than season two. However that does not mean this season is any less prestigous than the previous one as the invited teams are the very best the West has to offer. Of the eight teams invited teams, seven are all invited to The International 2013, a great way to get ready for the tournament of the year.

As mentioned before, the top two teams will not be playing each other online but on LAN instead, at one of the most prestigous LAN events ever, DreamHack Valencia from the 18th to 21st of July. The two teams that qualify for the LAN finals will also receive travel stipends and accommodations will be provided for.

Another interesting thing about this season is that viewership statistics will be shared among the participating teams and their sponsors. This allows teams to show quantitative data to sponsors on the exposure they get during the league.

Commentary will be provided by Aaron 'Ayesee' Chambers and Jacob 'Maelk' Toft-Andersen.

The prize pool for this season have not been made public yet but season two was $10,000.

Invited Teams

Dignitas

How-to: Download Ragnarok Online 2 from Steam with Region Lock

Ragnarok Online 2 was recently released on the Steam platform a few days ago. If you’re like me, you may have attempted to download it from the store page and realized that it is not available for your region.

image

I looked up how to bypass this but my search yielded no viable results. Until I had the epiphany. Instead of boring you with the details on how I figured this out, here’s what you need to do.
Step 1: Open up your Steam client and go to Settings.

Step 2: From the settings window, go to the DOWNLOADS + CLOUD tab.

Step 3: On the Download region section, select any of the supported countries. I opted for Argentina.

Step 4: Click OK.

Step 5: Click HERE.

Dota 2 Interactive Compendium gets new stretch goals, including vote on next released hero

After the Dota 2 community blasted through the second stretch goal for the International’s prize-pot-boosting Interactive Compendium, Valve have gone back to the bonus board to remap their targets. New stretch goals have added to the virtual document, filling in the previously colossal gap between Smeevil’s mount at $1.85 mil, and the new Immortal item at $2.6 million.
The Compendium acts as the ultimate record, companion, guide and boasting tool for the International tournament, allowing you to predict outcomes, and gain items, while filling in and expanding as the competition progresses. It also feeds back into the tournament – with $2.50 from every sale being added to the International’s original $1.6 million prize fund.
With the prize pot now at nearly $1.96 million, here are the remaining stretch goals, with the newly created bonuses in bold:
  • $2,000,000 – A custom HUD skin for all Compendium owners
  • $2,200,000 – A Taunt item with a brand new animation for all Compendium owners
  • $2,400,000 – Vote on participants in an 8 player Solo Championship (1 vs 1) at The International
  • $2,600,000 – An Immortal item for all Compendium owners
  • $3,200,000 – Choose the next hero released
A more evenly distributed list then, but one that comes with an even larger final goal: a vote on the “next” hero to be added. Of course, here the goal’s timing comes in to play. If the vote isn’t held until the International kicks off, there’s a strong chance that Abaddon and Legion Commander will already have found their way into the game – the vote instead deciding the next release from the remaining seven heroes.
As for the tournament, the West Qualifiers are set to continue today from 1pm BST, with the start of the Group B stage. You can watch the tournament live from the GDStudio qualifier page.
