Not true, the definition of delete is to remove or obliterate (written or printed matter), especially by drawing a line through it or marking it with a delete sign, this is not removing it from existence its moving it to another place to be overwritten, if you want to get rid of a file you have to erase it.The definition of erase is eliminate something: to remove or destroy something completely, and that my friend is how you get rid of a file, so just deleting a file will not get rid of it but it will be thought to be gone.
