Evil Geniuses's flagship Dota 2 tournament, the RaidCall Dota 2 League returns once again for its third season this time bigger than ever. The most exciting part about season three is that there will be a LAN finals being held at DreamHack Valencia in July.
With a new season comes a few changes as well. Season three will be a more compressed season and feature less teams than season two. However that does not mean this season is any less prestigous than the previous one as the invited teams are the very best the West has to offer. Of the eight teams invited teams, seven are all invited to The International 2013, a great way to get ready for the tournament of the year.
As mentioned before, the top two teams will not be playing each other online but on LAN instead, at one of the most prestigous LAN events ever, DreamHack Valencia from the 18th to 21st of July. The two teams that qualify for the LAN finals will also receive travel stipends and accommodations will be provided for.
Another interesting thing about this season is that viewership statistics will be shared among the participating teams and their sponsors. This allows teams to show quantitative data to sponsors on the exposure they get during the league.
Commentary will be provided by Aaron 'Ayesee' Chambers and Jacob 'Maelk' Toft-Andersen.
The prize pool for this season have not been made public yet but season two was $10,000.
